Confessions Of A Former Anorexic: Where Do You Find Worth?

IMG_2487I’m sure you’ve seen those campaigns created and pushed by Dove that say: “Be the best you!” “Every-BODY is perfect.””You’re great just the way you are!”Please don’t get me wrong. I am not going to diss these campaigns because I believe that those who put them together did so with very good intentions; however, I think it would be negligent to not point out the fact that these campaigners are missing something very important…

They are missing out on something vital…

The campaigns are focused only on showing you that you can be valuable no matter what you look like. But why? WHY have we attached beauty to value in such a callous way? Who ever decided that our looks had anything to do with the value we hold?

We must stop connecting worth to looks and focus on who God says we are.

       1. We are God’s fearfully crafted workmanship. We have been made with purpose!

For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them (Ephesians 2:10).

      2. Jesus and His crazy, amazing presence is accessible to us!

But now in Christ Jesus you who used to be far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:13).

       3. Because we are beloved children of God, He supplies all our needs.

And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

This means that, when we have accepted Jesus into our hearts, we are NOT orphans. We do not need to hear from the world that we must be a certain way in order to be accepted and loved (that is an orphan mentality). We have a GREAT Father who will give us whatever we ask for from Him ❤

Please reject any lies that you will not be freed from the mindset that you will not be free from the ailments that plague you, no matter what form they present themselves in.

        4.  God loves us and has chosen us!!

We know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you … (1 Thessalonians 1:4).

Our lives are not arbitrary and without hope. Our lives have been crafted by the Master of grand design. This Master of grand design wants to see you walking in freedom and realization of the crazy, amazing destiny He has for you.

If He can heal me, He can heal you. He will if you ask Him ❤

Sit down in a quiet place with nothing but you, just as you are. Snuggle close into His strong arms and listen to Him tell you the story of who you are, the truth about where you have come from and where He and His inconceivable plans are going to take you.

Much love,

K.L Pezzutto ❤
